Feelings Matter! Video and Photo Contest
The mission of GLEAM is to begin a global conversation about the role our emotions play in our lives. When we are not aware of our feelings:
- we often say and do things that harm us and people we care about
- we let fear and insecurity prevent us from pursuing our goals
- we can get locked in negative emotions and can’t see the bigger picture
- we don’t feel free and comfortable in our own skin
- we don’t access or enjoy the peace that lives inside us
- we don’t fully experience or receive the love that other people have for us
By joining this conversation we will not only enrich our daily lives; we will transmit open-heartedness, freedom and peace throughout the global community.
Guidelines
When is the contest entry period: January 11 to February 12, 2011
When does the voting begin:
All videos and photos will be publicly posted on February 1st. Voting will begin February 1st through February 12.
Winner announced February 14 – Valentine’s Day
Winners will be announced through the website and contacted via email
What is the prize:
Video Prize: $2,000 cash + $2,000 time value with life coach, psychotherapist and creator of AWARENESS app, Ronit Herzfeld.
Photo Prize: $500 cash + $500 time value with life coach, psychotherapist and creator of AWARENESS app, Ronit Herzfeld.
*Life coaching will be in English via phone or Skype

Video: Highest number of votes from the community
Photo: Highest number of votes from the community
What is the suggested maximum length of the video: 2 minutes
Can I submit more than one video: No
Can I submit more than one photo: No

Where and how do I submit my photo: Click submit, above, to upload from your computer.
Voting rules:
One vote per video or photo.
You may vote for more than one video or photo.
Votes are accepted between February 1 through February 12, 2011, EST.
Video content suggestions:
- The power of love
- The impact of anger or jealousy on relationships
- The effects of kindness; what does it feel like?
- How fear interferes with pursuing our dreams
- Feelings about weight, smoking, career
- How thinking positively affects your productivity and health
Video format guidelines:
- 853 x 480 in a 16:9 aspect ratio.
- Recorded at 30 fps.
- Between 30 seconds and 2 minutes.
- Uploaded and linked via YouTube or Vimeo.
Photo format guidelines:
- Each photo must have a caption reflecting the theme of “why feelings matter”
- maximum resolution 1366 x 768.
- Accepted formats: .gif, .jpg, .png.
- Maximum size: 1 MB.
Requirements
- The Video or Photo cannot have been submitted previously in a promotion or contest of any kind and should be an original creation developed for the competition.
- The Video or Photo must not contain material that violates or infringes another’s rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright or license infringement.
- The Video or Photo must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, defamatory, slanderous or libelous;
- The Video or Photo must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations in any state or U.S. Territory where the Video is created.
- By submitting a Video entry, participants agree to abide by YouTube Terms of Service, and allow the sponsor to use the video in connection with promotion of the competition.
- By submitting the Video or Photo into this competition, participants hereby grant Discover Yourself the royalty-free nonexclusive right to use the content of the Video and elements embodied within the Video, in whole or in part, with editorial and creative rights, worldwide, in any media without limitation and without consideration or acknowledgment to the entrant. Discover Yourself is not assuming any obligation hereunder to broadcast or distribute any video submitted into the contest.
- You must be 18 years old or older to participate
- We reserve the right to cancel the contest if not enough people enter.
